Floor Leveling
Sometimes floors shift because of changes in the foundation or underlying terrain. This creates an unleveled slanted floor.
If you dropped a marble, it would roll to one end of the room every time. While this may be tolerable to live within the short term, it indicates more serious structural concerns that will only deteriorate further.
What causes unleveled flooring?
When a foundation is set for a new construction there will inevitably be areas where the columns aren’t perfectly level. The builders use shims to even everything out as additional layers are added. Unfortunately, these wooden shims are made of somewhat soft materials like wood and they compress over time. Similar to the shocks on your car wearing out, eventually they just don’t hold everything even like they used to.
We evaluate where your foundation has shifted and re-shim the area with steel or composite shims that will last much longer than the originals.
